In 1938 Charles Kelly and Russell Frazier decided to mark where the Dominguez-Escalante expedition crossed the Colorado River in 1776. The memories of this trip live on--partly--in these photos.
In 1854 Utah Territory built its first prison near Sugar House. Here it remained until 1951. Today, the site of the penitentiary is Sugar House Park, a place for joggers, sledders, picnickers, Frisbee-throwers, and lots more.
