"Our Daily Diary" of Topaz

Miss Yamauchi’s "high" third-grade class at the Topaz Internment Camp kept a class diary from March to August 1943. Most of the kids came from the West Coast to live in the bleak camp. In the diary the class wrote about lots of things, like what was going on at the different “blocks” of barracks, the desert animals they were seeing (perhaps for the first time in their lives), and their help with the war effort.
